My journey to therapy actually started in a dance studio. I was working as a teaching artist and performer when one of my students—a boy on the autism spectrum—joined my class at his therapist's suggestion.
Watching him open up and grow through creative expression was incredible. That's when it clicked for me: the arts and therapy together were something powerful, something I needed to understand more deeply. So the next fall, I packed my bags and headed to New York University for my master's degree.
Now this is what I do.
My clinical training has taken me into some of the most challenging healthcare settings. I've worked in neonatal ICUs, pediatric cancer units, and children's surgical wards of leading New Jersey and New York hospitals—places where families face unimaginable stress and need every bit of support we can offer.
I also created and performed original therapeutic programming through a closed-circuit TV station for hospitalized kids, bringing moments of joy and connection to children who couldn't leave their rooms. The TV station work took on new meaning during the COVID-19 pandemic, when it became a genuine lifeline for isolated patients of all ages.
